DirectTrust recently submitted comments in response to the request from U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) (ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee) for feedback from stakeholders relative to health data privacy.

As technology proliferation has occurred, more health data exists and is shared, but may not be subject to HIPAA.  This RFI contemplates ways to improve the privacy protections of health data to safeguard sensitive information while balancing the need to support medical research.
